About
Wee Beastie takes its name from Airigh Nam Beist, a legendary Ardbeg release from 1990, and embodies the distillery's philosophy of unfiltered youth. Born from workshops led by Dr. Bill Lumsden and his team, who tested younger samples to find something raw and uncompromising, this five-year-old refuses to apologize for its age. Matured in ex-bourbon and Oloroso sherry casks, Wee Beastie delivers peat without restraint. The nose hits hard with creosote, cracked black pepper, and coastal salt — a Hebridean shoreline captured in spirit. The palate follows suit: smoky ash, sappy pine resin, and a briny minerality that lingers. Young and lively throughout, it wears its cask maturation lightly, letting the peat and youth speak. This is Islay unvarnished — for those who want smoke and character over refinement.
