blended malt scotch

peated scotish single malt
peated Highland single malt (bourbon/sherry casks)
The Glendronach has stood in the Scottish Highlands since 1826, in the Valley of Forgue, drawing its water from the Dronach Burn. Founded by James Allardice and a group of farmers, the distillery has built its reputation on sherry-matured single malts. The Peated was its first smoked expression under current ownership (Benriach Distillery Company), released in 2015.
This whisky uses lightly peated barley, first matured in ex-bourbon casks and then finished in Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez sherry casks—an unusual pairing that marries restrained smoke with Spanish oak influence, rather than committing wholly to either character.
