peated Highland single malt (bourbon/sherry casks)

single malt
peated scotish single malt
The Glendronach was founded in 1826 by James Allardice in the Valley of Forgue in the Scottish Highlands. This Traditionally Peated represents an outlier in the distillery's portfolio, which is celebrated for its sherried expressions. It pairs youthful, peated malt with the classic sherry influence the house is known for.
The whisky is initially matured in ex-bourbon casks, followed by a secondary period in oloroso and Pedro Ximénez sherry casks. This creates an interesting tension between the smoky, peated character and the rich, dark sweetness of the sherry wood.
