About
Amrut Fusion is built on a deliberate blend: 75% unpeated Indian six-row malted barley and 25% peated Scottish two-row barley. This combination put the Bangalore distillery on the global map in 2010 when Jim Murray named it the third finest whisky in the world in his Whisky Bible — a recognition that legitimised Indian single malt forever. The whisky matures in ex-bourbon casks, contributing to its full, fruity character. The Indian six-row barley brings distinctive orchard fruit and spice, while the Scottish peated malt adds a subtle, never-dominant smokiness. The result is no Scottish imitation, but a spirit with its own identity. On the nose, Fusion reveals barley sugar, gentle pepper, and stone fruit — apricot and apple. The palate is rich and smooth, with vanilla, oak spice, citrus-orange brightness, and a tangy peat note that never overwhelms the fruit. The finish is dry and concentrated, with cinnamon and black pepper lingering alongside the fading smoke.
