Big Peat brings the smoke to the football stadium. This strictly limited edition marks the 2026 FIFA World Cup, channelling the same wild Islay spirit and untamed peat that defines the brand. Douglas Laing & Co., the independent Glasgow-based blender, assembled a selection of single malts from renowned Islay distilleries for this special release. The World Football Edition retains Big Peat's signature briny, bonfire-on-the-beach Islay character—a blended malt that pulls no punches. At 48% ABV and just 450 bottles worldwide, this is a strictly limited bottling; once it's gone, the party's over. On the nose, mineral notes, seaweed, and roasted citrus emerge alongside hints of camphoraceous character. The palate is full and smoky, layered with roasted nuts and a dense, flavourful peat. The finish lingers long and powerful, with smoke remaining beautifully present throughout. Ideal for those who love Islay and want to celebrate the tournament with a dram as uncompromising as the game itself.
