About
This Speyside single malt hails from the SMWS archive, where since 1983 enthusiasts have gathered to share whisky in its purest, unfiltered form. The name captures something personal — those unhurried summer walks with your father — and that warmth carries through the whisky itself. A 12-year-old that speaks to memory as much as flavour. The nose opens with sweet fruit and a whisper of spice. Water coaxes out pear notes as the alcohol softens. On the palate, vanilla, white chocolate, and desiccated coconut emerge, underpinned by a grassy thread from the wood. The finish alternates between sweetness and spice — cinnamon, speculaas — with a creamy mouthfeel that lingers. Bottled from cask 48.177 at 59.3% ABV, this is SMWS at its core: a carefully selected, non-chill-filtered expression that lets the cask and distillery speak without compromise. The proof gives it backbone enough to carry the complexity without dominating.
