Bold

Paul John Bold originates from Goa on India's west coast, where founder Sanjay Paul pursued his vision: crafting world-class single malt. The whisky is distilled from six-row Indian barley and peated using peat imported from Islay — an unconventional choice that defines its character. Goa's tropical climate accelerates maturation dramatically, yielding complexity beyond what its age alone would suggest.

Matured in ex-bourbon casks, Bold develops a distinctive smoky profile that diverges from typical Islay whisky — less phenolic, more smoke and petrol-like. The nose reveals peat smoke, fresh fruit and honey; the palate combines sweet honey and caramel with that characteristic smoky edge. The finish remains dark and layered, with fruit and spice gradually emerging.

This whisky proves that world-class single malt need not be exclusively Scottish. Bold is a statement — young but assertive, tropical yet rooted in Scotch tradition.
