St. George's Malt 'n' Rye is an uncommon whisky: a blend of malted barley and rye, both distilled in copper pot stills rather than the industrial column stills that dominate grain whisky production. This choice alone sets it apart, placing it in territory where few modern distilleries venture.

The rye addition is the key to its character. Where grain whisky is typically smooth and neutral, rye brings texture and an assertive edge. Pot still distillation—a technique usually reserved for malt whisky—amplifies this effect, creating a spirit that resists easy categorization.
