The GlenAllachie Masters of Wood Series Expands

The GlenAllachie unveils an exceptional 19-year-old single malt from the Masters of Wood Series, elevating sherry maturation to another level. This Speyside whisky is matured in rare ex-solera Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso sherry casks with over 50 years of history. The selection of these exceptional casks makes this release remarkable, as bodegas rarely make such casks available for whisky production.

Production and Character

The spirit received initial maturation in American ex-bourbon casks before secondary maturation in the rare ex-solera sherry casks. Bottled at 50% ABV, this whisky combines vanilla, caramel and honey with rich PX sweetness and the drier, spicier influence of Oloroso sherry. Master distiller Billy Walker selected these casks for their profound depth: decades of sherry history have built layers of complex character.

Tasting Profile

The nose reveals dried fruit, caramel, honey and cherry notes. The palate delivers dried fruit, toffee, pepper and ginger, interspersed with heather honey. The finish is long and rich, with caramel, toffee, honey and lingering spice.

This release appeals to enthusiasts who appreciate sherry-matured whisky. With a recommended retail price of €262.00, this Masters of Wood expression represents an investment in craftsmanship and rarity.
