Dumbarton 25 Year Old 2000 Unicorn is a rare and characterful Lowland single grain Scotch whisky from the now-closed Dumbarton Distillery. Bottled exclusively for The Whisky Barrel as part of the highly collectible Unicorn Series, this release offers a unique opportunity to experience whisky from one of Scotland's lost distilleries. With only 259 bottles produced, it's a standout release for collectors and enthusiasts alike.

This exceptional single cask was distilled in 2000 and matured in a first fill Oloroso sherry hogshead (#TWB1043). Bottled in 2026 at natural cask strength of 56.6% ABV, the 25-year maturation has delivered remarkable depth and richness. The first fill Oloroso cask imparts a full, complex character, showcasing the smooth elegance typical of well-aged grain whisky.

The nose reveals dried fruits, caramel, and toffee. The palate develops with dried fruits and caramel, complemented by peppery notes and dried spices. The finish lingers with caramel, toffee, and warming spice.

The Unicorn Series label pays tribute to Dumbarton's legendary guardians—the iconic "Scotch Watch" geese that famously protected the distillery's warehouses from 1959 until 2012.
