Longrow takes its name from a lost Campbeltown distillery that once stood next to Springbank; its warehouse now houses the bottling. Created in 1973 as a heavily peated, oily component for a blend, Longrow evolved into a standalone expression. Double distilled and dried over peat for 48 hours, it reaches a robust 50 PPM phenol content — comparable to many Islay whiskies, but with Campbeltown's signature oily, full-bodied character.
Matured in a combination of ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks, without added colour or chill-filtration. The nose reveals smoky fruit and workshop funk — ripe red apple, melon, pineapple — with underlying oiliness. On the palate, earthy and saline character emerges alongside citrus, plump sultanas, and a touch of vanilla. The finish is intense, with sooty peat smoke and a lingering, salty fade.
