Seagram's VO was born at a wedding. In 1916, Thomas Seagram commissioned the master blender to create a special blend for his marriage reception. The result was so successful it became the family's house whisky—'Very Own'—and eventually went to market. This is the story behind one of Canada's most recognizable spirits.
The blend comprises whiskies aged at least six years, produced in Valleyfield, Quebec. Seagram's VO is a medium-bodied blended Canadian whisky with a golden-amber hue. The nose offers vanilla, toffee, and light oak, with a subtle rye spice undertone. On the palate, a creamy, butterscotch character emerges—brown sugar, caramel, and a whisper of nutmeg.
This is whisky without pretence: made for everyday drinking, neat or on the rocks, equally at home in an Old Fashioned or a simple highball. The Seagram family created this not for critics, but for themselves—and you can taste that intent.
