Phoenix Rising

Phoenix Rising takes its name from the mythical bird that rises from its ashes—a fitting reference for this limited-edition release from Glen Moray. The whisky matures first in bourbon casks before finishing in new charred oak, an unusual choice for the Speyside distillery that deliberately shapes a distinct character.

That new oak finish brings caramel and spice to the fore, anchored by the initial bourbon maturation. The result is a whisky that feels like a conscious departure from Glen Moray's typical profile.

On the nose, coconut, creamy caramel, and milk chocolate emerge, tempered by a subtle peppery note that cuts the sweetness. The palate holds caramel as its anchor, gradually giving way to oak spice and further pepper. The finish is clean and warming, with a light smoky suggestion that underscores the new oak influence.
