Bruichladdich was founded in 1881 by the Harvey brothers on the western shore of Loch Indaal, Islay. The name means 'shore bank' in Gaelic—fitting for a distillery that has always stood apart through uncompromising craft. The Classic Laddie is not a fixed formula but an annual composition: on average 76 different casks, four vintages of spirit, seven cask types. This is Bruichladdich's signature—transparency and method without shortcuts.
Distilled from 100% Scottish barley using original Victorian machinery, the spirit matures entirely in American oak by the shores of Loch Indaal. At 50% ABV, nothing is added, nothing removed—what you taste is pure distillation.
