Ballantine's began in 1827 when George Ballantine opened a shop in Edinburgh, selling groceries alongside a curated range of Scottish whiskies. That combination would become a global success story: today, Ballantine's is the world's second best-selling blended Scotch. The name honours George and his sons Archibald and Daniel.
The blend draws from roughly 40 different whiskies—single malts and grain whiskies from Scotland's most celebrated regions, each matured in oak for at least seven years. This isn't a simple formula, but the result of generations of blending craft.
