Thompson Bros. TB/BSW

Phil and Simon Thompson are among Scotland's most influential whisky figures. After years managing Dornoch Castle Hotel and building a reputation as independent bottlers, they opened their own distillery in 2015. TB/BSW is their first official release — a blended Scotch that distils their philosophy: value and character at every level.

The blend combines ex-bourbon and ex-sherry cask maturation with a mix of peated and unpeated spirit. Only 16 casks were released publicly, making this 6-year-old a rare introduction to Dornoch's ambitions.

The nose reveals rich sherry character — raisins, dates, honey — followed by almond and toffee. On the palate, chocolate returns, sweet and oily, with walnut and spice weight. The finish lingers soft but persistent, offering nutmeg, orange peel, and a hint of dark chocolate.
