Rye

Barrel Strength 2022
Templeton Rye traces back to a storied whiskey tradition in Templeton, Iowa, where German immigrants settled in the 1880s and brought their distilling heritage. During Prohibition, rye whiskey was made in secret here; in 2006, Scott Bush and Keith Kerkhoff revived the brand, drawing directly from those bootlegger-era recipes that defined the region. This 10-year single barrel is a modern expression of that legacy.
Matured in new American charred oak and bottled at 52% ABV, the whiskey delivers depth and presence. The nose reveals layered notes of chocolate and vanilla, roasted oak, green apple, and apricot. On the palate, a silky sweetness emerges—honey and caramel with dark oak and delicate floral undertones, anchored by rye spice. The finish is clean and persistent, with lingering citrus and cinnamon.
