Suntory Toki

5.0 out of 5 (1 review)

Suntory Toki means 'time' in Japanese—a concept the brand uses to describe the dialogue between heritage and reinvention. Since Shinjiro Torii founded Suntory in 1899 and established Japan's first malt whisky distillery in Yamazaki in 1923, three generations of the Torii family have served as Master Blenders, refining Japanese whisky craft. Toki brings that tradition into conversation with contemporary creativity: a blend of malt from Yamazaki and Hakushu paired with grain from Chita, designed to be both approachable and distinctly its own.

The nose reveals citrus, green apple, and honey, with subtle herbal notes of basil and thyme. On the palate, a fresh, grain-forward character emerges—grapefruit, green grapes, and peppermint, complemented by delicate wood. The finish is elegant and fleeting: subtly sweet and spicy, with hints of vanilla, white pepper, and ginger.

This is a whisky that doesn't attempt to be traditionally Scotch—it charts its own course. Light, refined, and exceptional in highballs, but equally rewarding neat.
