About
The Tyrconnell name traces to 1876, when RM Delamere entered his chestnut colt in the National Produce Stakes and won at 100-to-1 odds—a legendary victory that made his fortune. This 10-year-old single malt honours that famous race and the Watt family legacy, which had already made the brand Ireland's bestseller before Prohibition. Matured a decade in ex-bourbon casks, the whisky receives a finishing in madeira wood that adds fruity and honeyed layers. Citrus and malt form the core, supported by dried stone fruits and floral notes drawn from the cask. At the glass it presents as approachable and lean. The nose shows malt and citrus in balance. On the palate, it stays light and gently sweet, with toffee and almond notes that gradually fade into a soft, lightly spiced finish. At 46% ABV it drinks smoothly neat—an everyday drinker with enough character to reward attention.
