Offerman Edition
Actor Nick Offerman, best known for playing Ron Swanson in Parks and Recreation, has harboured a genuine love for Lagavulin for over a decade. That affection crystallised in 2024 with the Offerman Edition—a collaboration between the actor and the distillery, born from his character's on-screen devotion to the Islay dram.
Matured for eleven years in American and European oak, the spirit then spent eight months finishing in ex-Caribbean rum casks. This rum cask finale introduces an unexpected sweetness into Lagavulin's signature peat smoke—a deliberate contrast that enriches rather than obscures the distillery's core character.
On the palate, Lagavulin's full-bodied, oily texture carries a striking interplay of peated fire and fruity sweetness. Salted toffee meets campfire smoke; citrus edges peek through the haze. The finish lingers with ashy, fading peat and a trace of that rum-cask indulgence. This is uncompromising Islay—not a genteel reinterpretation, but a whisky where peat, fruit, and oak speak loudly and in turn.
