Arran Sherry Cask The Bodega

1998
12 Years
Benriach was founded in 1898 by John Duff, an ambitious whisky entrepreneur whose venture faced an early setback—the distillery closed after just two years. It reopened in 1965 and has since built a reputation for producing both peated and unpeated single malts, an uncommon practice in Speyside.
The Twelve is matured across three distinct cask types: bourbon, sherry, and port. This deliberate blend avoids a single dominant character, instead layering complexity and balance across the spirit's profile.
On the nose, honeyed vanilla and soft malt emerge alongside floral hints. The palate delivers bright red fruits—maraschino cherry and baked orange—with hazelnut and subtle oak tannins. The finish is warm and lingering, with spiced mocha and a whisper of smoke that rounds out the experience.
