Ballantine's Finest

The Whistler Calvados Cask Finish
The Whistler takes its name from Pat Cooney, founder of Boann Distillery in County Meath, whose whistling melodies echo through the distillery. In Ireland, whistling is more than a pastime — it's a lost craft that the Cooney family is reviving. This blended whiskey is triple-distilled for extra smoothness and draws from the finest Irish malt and grain whiskeys.
The spirit matures separately in ex-bourbon and oloroso sherry casks before the two are brought together for a nine-month finish in oloroso sherry hogsheads. This two-stage approach balances the vanilla and oak spice from bourbon maturation with the full fruit character of sherry.
On the nose, caramel apple, citrus peel, and vanilla emerge, backed by oak spice and sherry influence. The palate reveals red apple, pear, and a hint of leather, while the finish lingers with dried fruit and gentle warming spice.
