ed Malt Whiskybase 2001-2019

A rare bottling released by Whiskybase itself to celebrate their 140,000th bottle milestone in November 2019. The blend draws from Edrington's stock distilled in 2001, combining malts from The Macallan, Highland Park, Glenrothes, and Glenturret — all married together and finished in sherry casks for 18 years.

The nose leads with toffee, fruitcake, and warm spices, hallmarks of a well-aged blended malt. On the palate, medium weight arrives with vanilla, soft red berries, and caramel, developing into toasted oak, coffee cream, and dark chocolate. The finish brings tingling spice, tobacco, leather, and coffee notes — a lengthy, complex farewell.

This is a deliberately composed blend, not a house-clearing exercise. The combination of these four distilleries creates a whisky that feels intentional: Macallan and Glenrothes contribute richness and fruit, Highland Park adds structure and maritime edge, while Glenturret rounds out the profile. A collector's piece with genuine provenance.
