Vault Edition

The Vault Edition emerges from Bowmore's most distinctive location: the No. 1 Vaults, built below sea level and directly against the shoreline. This subterranean warehouse possesses its own microclimate, where the Atlantic Ocean's constant presence shapes the spirit maturing within. The first release in a planned four-part series was matured entirely in hand-selected ex-bourbon casks, positioned against the vault's iconic seaward wall.

That maritime character is unprecedented for Bowmore. While the distillery is known for balanced peatiness, the Vault Edition introduces an Atlantic salinity—a dialogue between sea and stone—that feels singular. Non-chill-filtered and bottled at 51.5% ABV to preserve every layer.

The nose reveals honeycomb and cocoa, with that distinctive iodine-tinged blood orange. The palate follows with salt and sweetness in conversation—juicy tropical fruit cut through by maritime minerality and a drying finish. This is an Islay whisky that delivers not merely smoke, but the sea itself.
