Rowan´s Creek

2.0 out of 5 (1 review)

Rowan's Creek takes its name from a creek running through Willett Distillery's grounds in Kentucky. The creek itself is named after John Rowan, an influential statesman and judge from Nelson County in the late 1700s and early 1800s. The distillery has deep roots in American bourbon tradition, and this bottling carries that heritage forward with a characterful, rye-forward spirit.

The bourbon is entered into barrel at 125 proof and aged in new charred oak before water is added at bottling (50% ABV). The result is a medium-bodied whiskey with a full, sweet foundation anchored by spicy undertones.

Nose opens with fruit and oak, hints of honey and floral notes. Palate leads with caramel and vanilla, joined by noticeable spice—cinnamon and nutmeg—alongside a buttery texture. Finish is long and peppery, with cranberry and pecan notes reinforcing the spicy character. A solid bourbon that drinks smoothly despite its proof.
