21 years
Glen Moray began life as a brewery on the banks of the River Lossie in Elgin in 1897, before pivoting entirely to whisky production. This 21-year-old expression is part of the Elgin Heritage Collection, showcasing the refinement the distillery has developed over more than a century.
The whisky matured first in American oak casks, then spent two years finishing in Portuguese port wine casks. This two-stage ageing creates its signature character: bourbon maturation builds spicy sweetness, while the port finish layers in dark fruit and creamy notes.
On the nose, a voluptuous dram emerges—raspberries, ginger, and vanilla custard lead. The palate delivers honey, blackcurrant, and liquorice balanced with earthy mushroom depth. The finish is long and creamy, with cranberry and oak tannins fading gradually into warmth.
