Black Label, Highlands Origin

Also available:70cl

Johnnie Walker's story begins in 1820, when John Walker, a young grocer in Kilmarnock, opened his shop and noticed that whisky from different casks tasted different. Rather than see this as a flaw, he began blending them to create something consistent and refined. His son Alexander built on this approach, and in 1865 created the blend originally called 'Old Highland Whisky'—which would eventually become the iconic Black Label.

The Highlands Origin is part of Johnnie Walker's Origin series, where each expression focuses on whiskies from a single Scottish region. This Black Label marries malt and grain whiskies aged for a minimum of 12 years, drawing its character entirely from the Highlands' characteristic smoky elegance.

On the nose, soft honey and orchard fruit emerge. The palate brings vanilla and barley sweetness, while the finish delivers white pepper and smoke over dry oak. This is a blend that demonstrates how consistency and craft need not compromise refinement—just as John Walker discovered two centuries ago.
