Octomore is Bruichladdich's ultra-heavily peated expression, named after Octomore Farm, a landmark on the hill above Port Charlotte on Islay. At 133 PPM (parts per million) of peated barley, this release ranks among the world's most heavily smoked single malts. The 09.3 is part of the ninth annual limited edition series, each iteration bringing distinct character through varying production choices.

Bottled at 62.9% ABV, the spirit carries the full force of its smoky construction. Bruichladdich relies primarily on first-fill American oak ex-bourbon casks for maturation, allowing the whisky to develop at a measured pace without the peat overwhelming the spirit's natural complexity.

The nose hits with deep, earthy smoke and prominent barley character. The palate opens with warm, oily texture and malt-forward presence, layered with spice and vanilla sweetness. The finish remains intensely smoky and lingering.
