Glenmorangie was founded in 1843 by farmer William Matheson and his wife Anne on their Highland estate, growing into a pioneer of innovation and one of Scotland's earliest distilleries to sell beyond its borders. Today, the distillery is recognised for its distinctively tall stills — the tallest in Scotland — which contribute to the spirit's characteristic lightness and clarity.
This 12-year-old expression matures in ex-bourbon American oak casks. The extended maturation amplifies Glenmorangie's signature flavour profile: citrus and ripe peach become more pronounced, while vanilla, honey, and subtle dried spices deepen and integrate. The result is a soft, creamy single malt with a pleasing balance between orchard fruit and sweet, woody finish.
Designed to be enjoyed neat, this whisky requires no water — its 40% ABV allows the full spectrum of flavours to emerge without harshness. Approachable yet layered, it serves as both an accessible entry point to Highland malts and a reliable dram for established enthusiasts.
