The Connection
KAMIKI
Kamiki is named after Masataka Taketsuru, the founding father of Japanese whisky. This blended malt from Nara sources whisky from multiple distilleries and undergoes a second maturation in Yoshino-sugi (Japanese cedar) casks. The result is a whisky where cedar finish is not an accent but the defining character.
The nose reveals immediate cedar and sandalwood, followed by green tea and cinnamon. On the palate, rich cedar notes dominate, complemented by subtle fruit and a faint smokiness. The finish is dry and woody, with lingering cedar and spice.
This is a whisky for those who embrace unconventional profiles and welcome wood as a primary voice rather than a supporting note. The Japanese cedar gives it a singular identity—one you won't find in other Scottish or Japanese blends.
