Bud Spencer The Legend
Bowmore was founded in 1779 by David Simpson on the shores of Loch Indaal and remains Islay's oldest licensed distillery. This 15-year-old single malt sits at the heart of the range: a whisky that marries Bowmore's signature peat character with the depth of sherry maturation.
After 12 years in bourbon casks, the spirit spends three additional years in sherry wood, layering dark fruits, chocolate, and subtle sweetness over a foundation of smoke and maritime salt. This is not sherry-forward, but rather a refinement of Bowmore's natural voice.
On the nose: bright red fruit, dried apricot, and plum, with sea salt, white pepper, and hints of milky coffee and dark chocolate beneath. The palate is oily and briny, with spiced oak, fig, and a whisper of caramel. The finish dries quickly, leaving smoke, tannin, and a lingering trace of stone fruit. A measured, grown-up Islay—neither bombastic nor shy.
