Paul John was launched in 2012 by Sanjay Paul, who set out to create world-class single malt from India. Nirvana, released in 2019, is the brand's entry point—designed for those discovering single malts without demanding complexity. It blends Indian grain spirit with imported Scottish malt, then matures in a mix of bourbon and sherry oak.

Goa's tropical climate accelerates maturation significantly, allowing Nirvana to develop full character at just 40% ABV—softer than most Scottish peers at the same strength.

The nose opens with honeycomb and fruitcake, layered with caramel and dried apricot. Palate brings creamy honey with a subtle salt edge from barley, balanced oak spice without harsh tannin. The finish lingers soft, with honey and malt threading through to the end.
