Cask Strength 2021 Edition

12 Black Label, 200 Anniversary
18 years
Johnnie Walker 18 Years is a blended Scotch whisky composed of approximately 18 different Scottish whiskies, personally curated by Master Blender Jim Beveridge. The brand itself traces back to 1820, when John Walker, a grocer from Kilmarnock, began blending different casks to achieve consistency—a practice that laid the foundation for what would become a global brand.
This 18-year-old expression combines malts from core regions including Cardhu, Caol Ila, Clynelish, and Glenkinchie with grain whiskies, bottled at 40% ABV. The casks—mostly ex-bourbon with sherry oak accents—have spent decades building layer upon layer of flavour.
The nose opens with honey and vanilla, followed by dried fruit and subtle smokiness. On the palate, it is clean and sweet, with toffee and malty cereal notes clearly present. The finish is the strongest element: warming and extended, with dark fruit lingering.
An approachable, balanced blend without pretension—ideal as an introduction to older Johnnie Walker expressions or as a reliable daily pour.
