A Night On Earth III The Journey 2023

A Night on Earth is The Macallan's annual gifting series celebrating the joy of reunion and togetherness. This 2023 edition, titled The Journey, honours those singular moments when we reconnect with loved ones after time apart. The collaboration with acclaimed Chinese artist Nini Sum produced innovative multi-layered packaging that transforms unboxing into a ritual—fitting for New Year celebration.

The whisky blends first-fill American ex-bourbon barrels with European and American sherry-seasoned oak casks, a composition rooted in Macallan's signature house style. At 43% ABV, it offers approachability without the sharp edges of cask strength.

On the palate, dried orange, ginger, and cinnamon emerge, lending warmth and spiced texture. The finish is medium-length, with lingering sherry influence that avoids heaviness. This is not a whisky demanding contemplation, but rather a convivial expression—easy to drink, with enough character to reward attention. It suits unhurried moments of connection.
