The Glendronach was established in 1826 by a partnership of farmers led by James Allardice in the Valley of Forgue, deep in the Scottish Highlands. This 15-year-old expression sits at the heart of the distillery's current lineup, returning to the sherry maturation that built the brand's reputation.
The whisky matures entirely in Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso casks from Andalucía—the same cask types that have defined Glendronach for generations. This pairing delivers the whisky's characteristic richness and depth.
On the nose, citrus and honey emerge first, followed by dried fruit and spice on the palate. The finish turns warm and peppery, with oak and toffee notes layering in. This is sherry-matured whisky as intended—not cloying, but textured and flavourful.
