Double Maturation

Origine
Amaethon takes its name from the Celtic god of agriculture—a fitting choice for a whisky made entirely from French barley. The brand draws on a centuries-old French tradition of grain cultivation and distillation, tracing back to the Gauls. This single malt is matured in American oak: 50% ex-bourbon and 50% virgin oak, resulting in a polished, youthful character with few tannins.
The nose reveals grain and bread, supported by honey and vanilla notes. On the palate, the virgin oak asserts itself with baking spices—ginger and nutmeg—while honey and walnut linger. The finish is warm and surprisingly long, striking a pleasant balance between sweetness and spice.
This is a whisky that hides its youth with elegance and technical precision—no rough edges, but rather an approachable character that lets the quality of French barley shine through.
