Cask Strength

5.0 out of 5 (1 review)

Edradour was founded in 1825 as a cooperative of Perthshire farmers in Pitlochry. Its name means 'between two rivers'—a reference to its setting between the Tay and Tummel. Today it remains one of Scotland's smallest traditional distilleries, where practices like worm tub condensers impart the signature spicy, peppery character that defines its spirit.

This 12-year-old cask strength expression is fully matured in sherry casks and bottled without artificial colour (no E150A). The deep colour is earned through years of wood interaction alone. At 58.6% ABV, nothing dilutes the intensity of flavour.

On the nose and palate: a bold, sherried dram with Amarena cherries, roasted figs, caramelised stone fruit, and honey. The alcohol is present but integrated; a touch of water reveals toasted almond, cocoa, and leather beneath. The finish is warm and lingering, with dark chocolate and spice that fades slowly.
