Three Scottish Brothers is a single grain whisky matured for twenty years in ex-bourbon casks. Single grain whisky differs fundamentally from single malt: it is distilled from a blend of grains—corn, barley, and rye—rather than malted barley alone, resulting in a lighter, more neutral spirit.
Produced at the Macduff distillery in the northern Highlands, this whisky has spent two decades developing character and integration. The ex-bourbon cask maturation has imparted gentle wood influence while preserving the grain whisky's inherent smoothness and approachability.
On the nose, vanilla and caramel emerge first, followed by hints of coconut, cinnamon, and chocolate with patient nosing. The palate is butter-soft and balanced, with the extended maturation evident in its refined, unhurried finish. A whisky that rewards sipping neat or with a splash of water.
