Rum Cask Finish

Jura Rum Cask Finish was created by Gregg Glass, Whisky Maker & Blender at parent company Whyte & Mackay, as part of a cask finish series designed to showcase how different wood influences the core Jura character. This expression moves the spirit from American ex-bourbon oak into hand-selected Caribbean rum casks for its finishing phase.

Maturation begins in American white oak ex-bourbon barrels before transitioning to the rum cask finish, which introduces tropical depth without overwhelming the distillery's baseline island character. The resulting profile balances sweetness with subtle complexity.

On the nose: guava and coconut mingle with roasted almond, apricot, and citrus notes. The palate delivers vanilla, fudge, mango, and banana with a creamy texture. The finish lingers with cinnamon spice and a touch of sweetness—a far cry from Jura's typically earthy, peppery core, but faithful to what the rum wood contributes.
