Single Malt Peated PX

Millstone was founded in 1975 as a liqueur distillery by Fred van Zuidam before venturing into whisky production in 1996—marking the beginning of Dutch whisky-making. This Peated PX demonstrates that ambition has endured: a study in what happens when peated malt meets Pedro Ximénez casks.

The whisky matures in ex-sherry casks, which contribute a rich sweetness that doesn't overpower the smoke but rather embraces it. It's a deliberate choice to let both characters integrate fully rather than compete.

On the nose, dark tobacco and gentle smoke emerge—like a distant summer campfire. The palate brings chocolate and orange zest, supported by a measured peatiness that never turns harsh. The finish is long and warming, with red fruit and a whisper of spice drawn from the cask.
