Knockdhu Distillery opened in 1894 in Banffshire, but the anCnoc brand itself emerged only in the early 1990s—a deliberate choice to avoid confusion with Knockando. Under Inver House's stewardship, anCnoc has grown into a respected Highland single malt, even as the name remains less familiar than many rivals.
The 16 Years matured in a combination of Spanish and American oak casks. No caramel colouring was added, and the whisky was not chill-filtered—a conscious decision to preserve full flavour intensity and natural character.
On the nose, it reveals an aromatic profile with rich citrus, honey, and malty notes. The palate brings a full, sweet impression: toffee, orchard fruit, and caramel, with subtle spicy undertones. The finish is long and balanced, with a lingering citrus edge.
