Single Barrel Amburana

Scotch
Togouchi represents one of Japan's rare 100% Japanese blended whiskies. The brand emerged from Chugoku Jozo, a brewery established in 1918 in Hiroshima, which turned to whisky production in 1990. Rather than distilling its own malt, the company sources Scottish malt whisky and Canadian grain whisky, then handles maturation and blending in-house — a process classified as "production" under Japanese law, qualifying it as Japanese whisky.
The name Togouchi references the municipality housing an abandoned railway tunnel that serves as the whisky's maturation site. This underground tunnel beneath Hiroshima proved ideal for whisky aging: stable temperature and humidity create natural maturation conditions. This 9-year-old blend benefits from that distinctive environment.
On the nose, this whisky presents sweet and gently spiced character with apricot and plum notes. The palate reveals vanilla and milk chocolate sweetness with good balance, while the finish lingers warm and full, with woody undertones.
