Lochlea Red Wine Cask is a refined single malt from the Lowlands, released annually as a special limited edition. This inaugural bottling matured first in first fill bourbon casks before finishing in former Grenache casks, creating a whisky of genuine character and elegance. On the nose, bright aromas of pink berries and red fruits emerge, complemented by floral sweetness and gentle oak tannins. The palate showcases juicy red fruits and vanilla, supported by fresh green apple notes and subtle oak spice. The finish delivers a pleasant balance of fruitiness and sweetness, with lingering vanilla and oak that gently fades. This whisky is best enjoyed neat or with a splash of water, and pairs beautifully with light desserts or cheese boards.
