Smokehead is Ian MacLeod Distillers' enigmatic label for a heavily peated Islay single malt whose source distillery remains deliberately undisclosed. The nose opens with intense peat and campfire smoke, supported by spicy notes of rosemary and thyme that deliver earthy freshness. Beneath lies subtle citrus zest and creamy vanilla. On the palate, full and muscular—smoke arrives immediately, interwoven with bright citrus, while vanilla softens the interplay between smoke and brightness. The finish stretches long and seemingly endless, smoke lingering alongside briny sea air and fresh lemon that gradually fade.
