Speyburn was founded in 1897 by John Hopkins, a successful brandy merchant determined to build his own distillery and create the finest whisky he could make. Hopkins selected a secluded site in Speyside and hired Charles Chree Doig, the leading distillery architect of the era. The distillery has built its reputation on accessible, approachable whisky – and this 10-year-old expression embodies that philosophy.

Matured in a combination of ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks, Speyburn 10 strikes a balance between American oak and Spanish influences. The result is light and inviting, without sacrificing flavour depth.

On the nose, fresh citrus and green apple lead, followed by warm cinnamon and delicate floral touches. The palate reveals toffee and butterscotch over fresh apple pie, with a whisper of spice. The finish is sweet and lingering, with honey and dried spices that fade gently.

A whisky that proves simplicity and quality need not be at odds – ideal for those seeking a reliable, affordable everyday dram.
