After decades as a workhorse for blended Scotch, Tormore steps into the spotlight with its first core range. Elixir Distillers, the company behind The Whisky Exchange, acquired the distillery in 2022 and undertook a comprehensive overhaul of production and character. Tormore Timeless is the gateway to this revival: a no-age-statement single malt designed to showcase the distillery's fruit-forward spirit.

Matured primarily in bourbon casks, this whisky reflects a lighter, more approachable style. Head blender Oliver Chilton emphasises that Tormore's delicate peach and pear notes demand careful handling—lessons learned from decades supplying spirit for Ballantine's and Chivas Regal, where such subtlety could easily be buried.

On the nose, citrus and heather honey emerge alongside vanilla. The palate brings fresh and tropical fruit with honey sweetness, before a clean, citrus-driven finish with gentle caramel warmth. Timeless captures what Elixir saw in this Speyside producer: elegance without pretension.
