'Warehouse Reserve' Ben Nevis 2007 18 Year Old 48.9%
Warehouse Reserve Allt-A-Bhaninne 1995 30 Year Old 52.5%
Allt-A-Bhainne was founded in 1975 by Chivas Brothers as a malt whisky supplier for blended Scotch production. This 30-year-old from Speyside is a rare chance to experience a distillery seldom released as a single malt. Woodrow's of Edinburgh, operating under Eastlin Alba, has included this bottle in their Warehouse Reserve collection—a curated selection of well-aged single malts from their stock.
The whisky spent three decades in a refill hogshead, allowing Speyside's subtle character to develop without heavy oak dominance. At 52.5% ABV and just 206 bottles from cask 125315, this is a striking example of patient warehousing and restrained cask influence.
Nose: clean and fresh, opening with lemon and melon, followed by grassy notes and oak. Palate: full-bodied with vanilla butter cream, meringue, white chocolate, lemon and chamomile. Finish: moderate buttery conclusion with good persistence.
