This 125th Anniversary Edition celebrates a unique place in Scottish whisky history: Aberfeldy is the only distillery ever built by the Dewar family itself. Founded in 1896 beside the Pitilie Burn in Highland Perthshire, the distillery has spent a full century in craft production, interrupted only by the First World War and strengthened by a major expansion in 1973. This 25-year-old single malt matured for over two decades in refill hogsheads and butts before spending more than a year finishing in first-fill Oloroso sherry casks. The Oloroso augments Aberfeldy's natural richness and imparts a delightful spiced character. The nose reveals Highland honey, wild strawberries and sun-warmed peaches, building into cocoa, creamy caramel and warming cinnamon. On the palate, delicate fruit rests on a malty, cereal-driven base, with hints of vanilla coffee and a long, satisfying finish.
