7 Year Old Campbeltown Malts Festival Edition 2026

Glen Scotia, a small Campbeltown distillery operating since 1832, created this festival edition by drawing on its rare peated spirit—produced for only a few weeks each year. Master Blender Ashley Smith selected this 7-year-old single malt, matured in first-fill ex-bourbon casks before a six-month finish in Ruby Port casks.

The marriage of medium peat and port finishing produces a distinctive character: smoky notes intertwine with coastal minerality and vibrant fruit. On the palate, earthy peat dominates, balanced by subtle strawberry and mulled wine from the port cask work. The finish reveals ashy vanilla and a whisper of black pepper—the port touch lighter than expected.

This is robust Glen Scotia in its element: peat and maritime character form the foundation, while the port cask adds nuance without overwhelming the distillery's inherent coastal identity.
