Strathearn is one of Scotland's smallest distilleries, located in the village of Methven near Crieff in Perthshire's Highlands. Founded in 2013, it released its first single malt in April 2024—a milestone for Douglas Laing & Co, which later acquired the distillery. The name derives from the Scottish Gaelic word 'strath', meaning 'wide valley'.

This inaugural release is a vatting of ex-bourbon barrels, ex-sherry casks, and virgin oak, creating a full-bodied, buttery whisky. The blend of different wood types delivers a complex maturation, balancing vanilla and spice with sweet, fruity character.

On the nose, soft, buttery notes emerge alongside cooked apples, vanilla custard, and dried apricots. The palate is creamy and coating, with honey, pastry, and subtle oak spice. The finish strikes a pleasant balance between sweet malt and gentle spice, with lingering warmth.
